For the first time, BWCV 11 won Super Cup final against BWCV Regionalliga T20 champion. The Super Cup 2024 was held on 24 April 2024 between BWCV 11 and SCV Riders in Bad Dürkheim. The BWCV 11 was led by Harish Dhanian from TSVM Sharks. Additionally, 4 more players from TSVM Sharks, Virat, Chinmay, Akhil and Varun participated in the final. With five players selected to represent the BWCV 11 team, the TSVM Cricket have firmly established themselves as the powerhouse of cricket in the Stuttgart region.

Are you happy with team performance? What contributed to the success?
“Very happy… Overall, very satisfied with the team’s performance. Credit to Hardik Vora, he helped me understand every individual’s (whom I have never seen playing) game style. Fortunately, things worked as I anticipated at the beginning of batting. The pitch was in good condition, with big grass on ground. so we sent in our clean hitters early on. They (opening pair, Omkar and Ali) scored 90-0 in 7 overs, which exceeded my expectations. Then, we ensured there was no batting collapse or dry phase in the innings. In the end, we set a decent target for the opponents.
When you entered the field for 2nd inning did you feel you had put enough run on board?
“Initially, during the second innings, I felt we had scored 10-15 runs less than needed. Especially when Rajan and Upul were playing, I knew Rajan could easily capitalize on bad balls from spinners. So, I waited until he got out. After his dismissal, we implemented our planned strategy of starting with spin. This allowed our spinners to settle in. Hardik and Varun bowled exceptionally well during that phase, taking 3 wickets in 3 overs with good economy, which ultimately shifted the match in our favor, away from SCV Riders.”
What is the biggest challenge to captain BWCV 11 in Super Cup Final?
“This was my third Super Cup final, and in each of them, I have felt, we always have 11 performers from different teams on the field. The biggest challenge for a captain in such matches is to ensure all perform as 1 team. This time, all 12 of us executed it nicely. Credit goes to everyone involved.”
